The Comparative
Visual Cultures Emphasis component of the Art History major
at UCDavis is intended to give students the opportunity to
undertake comparative study of visual cultures from different
parts of the world and different periods in history. Such
an emphasis will provide students with a comprehensive general
background, strong visual reading and interpretation skills
and prepare them well for further study in art history and
visual cultural studies.
