This summer, Micki researched the art of the Silk Road in Northwestern
China. She attended a conference on Buddhist art and archaeology at the Dunhuang grottoes and visited historic sites throughout Xinjiang province. Her travels were partially funded by a research award from the Office
of Graduate Studies at UC Davis.
Micki just published "Red, Smooth, and Ethically Unified: Ethnic Minorities in Propaganda Posters of the People's Republic of China" in Yishu: Journal of COntemporary Chinese Art.
