Students majoring in Art History will engage with the
wide-ranging opportunities its curriculum presents for learning
and research. Studying Art History develops visual
literacy, communication skills, critical/creative thinking and an
understanding of diversity.
Alan Templeton is no stranger to the UC Davis campus. The alum
spent his undergraduate years exploring the Quad and combing
through art history books in Shields Library. Templeton (B.A.,
art history and psychology, ‘82) has worked as a professional
artist, labor union administrator and investor. He’s an art
collector and is passionate about helping elevate and grow the
arts and humanities at UC Davis.
The second season of the Manetti Shrem
Museum’s summer internship program is now accepting
applications. The museum will be selecting 4-6 interns to
participate in this 8 week (30 hours/week) program
Even though Margaret Culuris-Harp (M.A., ‘24) is nearing
completion of a first M.A. in art history, she is already looking
ahead at her next scholarly enterprise: continuing her
studies at Hebrew University with a Fulbright
Fellowship.
Please join us for the 2024 Art History Graduate Symposium
at the Manetti Shrem Museum on Friday, May 31. The symposium is
the art history contribution to the “Arts &
Humanities 2024 Graduate Exhibition” which showcases the
culminating work of graduate students in the College of Letters
and Science and opens June 6.
This year’s Arts and Humanities Graduate Exhibition, running June
6 – 24 at the Jan
Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, features student
work from across the College of Letters and Science.
